Vasey Housing is a "not for profit" organisation which was founded by
Mrs Jessie Mary Vasey, widow of one of Australia’s most distinguished
soldiers, Major General George Vasey.
Mrs Vasey was a pioneer in the fight to obtain justice for thousands of
War Widows. The Vasey organisation was originally established to
provide independent living units for women over the age of 60 who were
a relative of exservice personnel, or who served in the Defence forces
themselves.
Today, Vasey Housing has opened its doors to all single persons over
the age of 55 (both male and female).
Vasey’s vision is to provide independent and dignified residential
accommodation through its Retirement Villages, to all members of the
community whilst at the same time maintaining its long and proud
history of continued support to the Defence community.
Vasey is a member of
the Retirement Village Association NSW & ACT and the Aged &
Community Services Association of NSW & ACT, which are the peak
industry bodies for the retirement village industry. |
