History of the Village: “Northcott Gardens” was opened on the 7th March 1969 by His Excellency Sir Roden Cutler VC, AK, KCMG, KCVO, CBE, Governor of NSW. The village was named after Lt. General Sir John Northcott K.C.M.G., K.C.V.O., C.B. Chairman of Vasey’s Board from 1/2/1962 to 20/6/1966. A celebration was held on the 8th March 2004, commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the Village, when a plaque was unveiled by Lady Cutler to mark the occasion. The Local Member for Lane Cove Mr Anthony Roberts MLA was in attendance at the anniversary and he had some very kind words to say about Vasey in his speech to parliament on the 9th March 2004 which you may wish to read by clicking here.
